Email attachment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all,

We use exchanger server 2010 and the setting for attachment can accept 30M (send and receive)

But I found internal account can send and receive 30M attachment.

but external email  rejected by our exchange server if the attachment is over 8M

(at least ,I use gmail to make the test, I use hotmail can recieve 10M attachment from gmail.

but our internal account rejected the gmail if the attchament is over 8M)

    thank you

  • John,

This caused me some confusion as well until I figured out that external messages end up being larger than internal messages because they are converted from an internal binary format to a standard MIME format for transmission.

At least this is the first thing I thought of.  Confirm that all connectors as well as the global size limit is set to what you expect.  Use the Get-TransportConfig to view the global transport settings.
