Hyper-v failed to start RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everybody!!

I have a big problem, one of my VM can't start, I restored the VM but I think the problem is the physical server which is saturated with memory (30GB used on 32gb) but i can't restart because the others vm are installed on the same server. I put here my capture screen. If you know a way to find out the problem without restart you'd save my life

    Thanks you

  • Are you saying 30 of 32 GB of RAM is being used without this VM running? How much memory does the VM have allocated?

If the problem isn't memory related, the VM (virtual machine) could have become corrupted due to the restore. If so, the easiest solution is to create a new VM. When going through the VM creation wizard, instead of creating a new VHDx, use the existing virtual hard disk (VHD or VHDx) file.

Now once you boot this VM it will have a different virtual NIC with a different MAC address, so any static IP or DHCP reservations will need to be recreated.
