Performance Point 2010: Time Inttelligence (STPS) errors on certain Measures RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm receiving errors when using certain Measures and not other. 'Month' will work, but MonthToDate doesn't. On another measure it's the inverse with regards to what works and what fails.

Also, Month.FirstDay returns a value but when this is amended to Month.FirstDay:Day it fails.

Time Intelligence has been set up correctly.

    Any ideas?

  • Can you provide some details as to where you are using the TI formulas? Are you using them in a KPI setup or filter? If these are working with some measures but not all then can you provide some information about the measures you are referencing as well?

If you are using these with a Time Intelligence Filter and passing the values to the Analytical Report or Scorecard how are you making the connection?

You should be able to test the logic for TI just by setting up a Time Intelligence filter.  When doing this you can use the Preview option to see the logic and values that will be generated when the formula is actually used.

All of the formulas that you provided work just fine and should produce results, but would need more specifics as to how you are using the TI logic on the dashboard.  To further troubleshoot this on your own you might want to run a Profiler trace against your SSAS source and review the MDX that is being run against your database.

  • Is the measures calculated members og ordinary measures?

I've had trouble with combining calculated measures with typically YearToDate/MonthToDate - while it works fine with Year/Month. If the calculated measure was summable the error was solved by defining what to aggregate by.
