PS2 or USB mouse do not work but USB kayboard does RRS feed

  • Question

  • When booting the system the mouse is recognized but is not active. This happens whether you plug it into the ps2 port or USB port. The keyboard which is connected by USB is fine. When looking in device manager I get the yellow circle with an exclamation point for the mouse and another item for HID-Compliant mouse. I've tried removing them and either go back and have it look for new hardware or reboot. I've also tried updating the drive and chipset. It always comes back and the mouse continues to not work. Any ideas as to repairing it?
