Remove Briefcase capability RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Desktop->RightClick->New, there is a briefcase. Fairly sure it was not there at time of OS install.
I removed it from the registry array and it was gone at reboot. It is back today. This is same in past
Windows releases. I have no Need for a briefcase and would like to know what activates it and how
to properly get rid of it.

Thanking whoever has an answer in advance.

  • Briefcase was there by default right after you installed the operating system.
you can remove it by deleting this registry key but it will be at your own risk.

I suggest you export this key and save before you delete it.

    1. Open windows registry.

    2. Delete this key: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Briefcase]
