Why can't I change my Proxy Setting Exceptions in IE 11 through Gpedit.msc RRS feed

  • Question

  • We used to be able to change our Proxy Setting Exceptions in gpedit.msc by going to

User Configuration à Windows Settings à Internet Explorer Maintenance àConnection --> Proxy Setting

We are migrating to IE11 and we need to be able to modify these settings through the gpedit.msc tool

Any suggestion(s) on who to do that would be most appreciated

    Thanks

  • Internet Explorer Maintenance (IEM) was removed in IE10 and remains removed through IE11:

You can use Group Policy Preferences if you are using AD Group Policy (GPP is not available in Local GP / GPEDIT)

  • Hi,

It seems that you are using the domain policy. We would like to suggest you use group policy preference to set proxy settings.

Please go to domain controller and right click the domain policy name > "Edit". Then go to "User Configuration" > "Preference" > "Control Panel settings" > "Internet Settings". Then you could create the new Internet Explorer version and set proxy address in it.

In addition to that, you could use IEAK to deploy the Internet Explorer with proxy settings.

Hope it will be helpful to you.

    Best Regards,

    Simon
