Group vs. Project Security RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am having a difficult time determining which security takes precedence in Project Server. Our design is as follows: Users are added to the group called PM and given read/write permissions. The PM group is dynamically granted access to projects if they are the project owner or on the project team. For any given project, there may be 2 or 3 users who need PM level access which is why we granted access for both project owners and the project team. However, there are cases where someone should have PM level access on one project but read-only on another. I thought that if I specified project permissions and said User X (who belongs to the PM group) only gets read access to this project, that the project permissions would overwrite the group permissions. This does not appear to be the case. Does anyone have any insight into how I could better arrange security?
