  • Question

  • Good day

I am currently running Lync 2013 enterprise with 3 servers in each of the two load balanced team of servers.
SQL is mirrored, I want to plan an upgrade . I am thinking of side by side upgrade.

what is the best way to upgrade to Skype for business 2015

    Please help.

  • If you use W2012R2 as OS, you can do a inplace-upgrade. With an side by side Migration you can do also a perfect migration.

Create a entreprise pool with 3 Server and SQL mirroring and move some user for testing to the new pool.

If you have moved all users, do a inplace upgrade of the edge Server.

  • Hi Thami Dlamini,

Based on my understanding, you could upgrade directly with your environment.

Since you have a back-end database that is mirrored then you will see both the Principal and the Mirrored databases show up when you publish the topology using Topology Builder. Make sure all of the databases are running on the Principal and only select the Principal.
