File corrupted. "Run-time Error '3002': File could not be opened"

An assignment of mine was saved to a usb and has corrupted. When i attempted to fix this I encountered "Run-time Error '3002': File could not be opened". I really need this file, i have tried various options including Stellar Pheonix word recovery to no avail. Can anyone offer some assistance? Is there any way to fix the file?

Word documents corrupted by the unsafe removal of USB drives are typically unrecoverable by any means.
