Unable to cross reference some tables in a Word document RRS feed

    I've created over 100 table captions using the Insert Caption under References. However, as information was added by my SME, I've renumbered these tables manually. I now need to cross reference several table captions and many are not populating on the list of tables in the pop-up window for cross references. I've tried using the hyperlinks but this does not work internally to a document. Also, I've tried to recreate the table captions using the Insert Caption under References but the table caption doesn't show a number. The TOC generates fine though.

    Hi,

    According to your description, many table captions disappeared in the Cross-reference dialog when you crossed reference several table captions.

    In order to help you with the problem more efficiently, I need to clarify the below information:

    Did you choose the right Reference type (Table) when you cross reference?

    The renumbering tables might cause the tables to be deleted.

    We could recreate a new table caption then insert a new cross-reference.

    Make sure you choose the right format when you numbering the tables:
