prevent sequence numbers password in ad 2012

    Question

  • Is it possible to force the use of the domain policy so there is no password can be reset sequence numbers, for example Ad1234567
    This is the domain in 2008 and 2012
    By the way passwords are to:
    Password Must meet complexity

     You should configure a "Password Filter DLL" then apply this to your Domain Controllers;

  • its works in windows 2008 r2 ?

    i didnt understand how to install it..

    maybe add reg key done or something elase

  • sure,you can use with server 2008/2012,

    first need to create a custom Password Filter then apply to dc's(Copy the DLL to the Windows installation directory on the domain controller ).also check these articles;

  • Unfortunately it seems complicated and I think I would not touch that  the AD will be damge i am very afraid 
    I think I'll pass ..
    There is no simpler tool or some way to make its simple ?

  • yes,first you should test it on your lab environment,etc..Then make sure apply to prod.So before process you should take a full backup.
