Dynamic group discovery based on an attribute

I created an attribute out of "Windows Server" class with the discovery type on a registry key. SCOM (2007 R2 C5) automatically created a target/type called "Windows Server_Extended", as I understand this is becasuee the MP of the class is seal and this is fine. However here is where I got stuck. I expected to see this "Windows Server_Extended" target in the pulldown menu of Create Group Wizard - Query Builder window in order to create the rule/formula to discover the servers with the attribute. But I can find the target. What did I do wrong?

Please help. Thanks.

Hi Ed,

It looks like you expected to see the new attribute in the list of a (base) Windows Server class attributes, that's not true. Windows Server_Extended is a completely new class.

Thanks Alexey. Good link. I forgot to create the group in the same MP where the attribute is in.
