Tracking delayed task RRS feed

  • Hi,

Just insert the "status indicator" and/or "status" columns. Note that the status is calculated based on the status date.

    Hope this helps,

  • Add the Leveling Delay field to a task view if you want to examine the delays to tasks caused by resource leveling.

  • Another method would be to filter the project schedule to display 'Late Tasks'

From the 'Data' section of the 'View' ribbon select the 'Late Tasks' filter from the drop down menu.

    Hope this helps :)

  • You have set a baseline? Because that's how to track accurately. With a baseline, the tracking Gantt chart clearly shows progress (or lack thereof)!

  • Hi Ragavendra Dayakar

Thanks a lot for your question.

    My suggestion is:

    1) After finishing planning, set the baseline for the project so you have a reference and a target for the performance's project. To do this, select Project tab >Set Baseline>Set Baseline for entire project.

    2) When you start tracking your project, you have to set the Status Date so you have a reference date for tracking. It's a good practice using the status date instead of actual date. To do this, go to the Project Information window (From Project menu -> Project Information). When the Project Information window opens, select status date, at right side of the window, by clicking on the Status Date field.

Now you have a baseline and a date for reference.

    3) Now you can insert Status Column on your schedule. Notice that If the task start date is greater than the status date, then the Status field contains Future Task. If the timephased cumulative percent complete does not reach midnight on the day before the status date, then the Status field contains Late.

    4) Use the Status field in conjunction with the Status Indicator field to get a graphical indicator of task status.

    5) You can use progress line for graphical reference too based on Status Date. To do this Right Click on The Gantt Area and choose Progress Lines at Status Date.

Hope that it was useful for you
