Mirroring SQL Server 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    Using this setup:
    2 Machines with
    64 GB of RAM
    8 Cores
    Windows Server 2016 Standard
    SQL Server 2016 Standard SP1 CU3
3 databases configured with Mirroring + Witness

When we lose one node the failover works perfectly. (cutting the networking connection)

When the lost node rejoins the network, only one mirroring is able to recover, the others make timeout during the redo phase.

On SQL Server 2008 R2 we didn't have this behavior.

Is this a new feature to protect the active node of service the production workload?

    Thank you,

    Joao Martins DBA

I don’t think so, could you please post the related events from SQL Server error log(on both principal and mirror server) so we can have a better understanding about the issue?

If you have any other questions, please let me know.
