RCDC's Error: There's an error in the Resource Control. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone!

    I have problems with RCDC's editing and viewing users on Portal MIM.
    After editing the XML file and running IISRESET, clicking any user displays the following message:

    "There's an error in the Resource Control.
    Please Contact yout help desk or system administrator. "

    Steps taken to work around the issue:

    - Performed IISRESET
    - Uploaded the original XML file.
    - Entered the default Resource ID.
    - Resource-related MPR's are default.
    - Backup the FIMService database.
    - Repaired installation of MIM Portal.

    In addition I followed the correction procedure found in the Microsoft forums:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/31428.fim-2010-troubleshooting-default-rcdcs-not-recognized-after-replacement-through-fim-service-configuration-migration.aspx

    In Event Viewer no abnormal record appears.

    The other RDCD's work normally.

    Can you help me please?

    Thanks.

  • Your XML is formatted incorrectly. Copy the XML code here and show the changes you made

  • Hi Nosh!

    Follows code changed (User Editing):

    <my:Control my:Name="MCSLastLogonDate" my:TypeName="UocDateTimeControl" my:Caption="{Binding Source=schema, Path=MCSLastLogonDate.DisplayName}" my:Description="{Binding Source=schema, Path=MCSLastLogonDate.Description}"  my:RightsLevel="{Binding Source=rights, Path=MCSLastLogonDate}">
            <my:Properties>
              <my:Property my:Name="Required" my:Value="{Binding Source=schema, Path=MCSLastLogonDate.Required}"/>
        <my:Property my:Name="ReadOnly" my:Value="True"/>
              <my:Property my:Name="Value" my:Value="{Binding Source=object, Path=MCSLastLogonDate, Mode=TwoWay}"/>
            </my:Properties>
          </my:Control>

       <my:Control my:Name="MCSpwdLastSet" my:TypeName="UocDateTimeControl" my:Caption="{Binding Source=schema, Path=MCSpwdLastSet.DisplayName}" my:Description="{Binding Source=schema, Path=MCSpwdLastSet.Description}"  my:RightsLevel="{Binding Source=rights, Path=MCSpwdLastSet}">
            <my:Properties>
              <my:Property my:Name="Required" my:Value="{Binding Source=schema, Path=MCSpwdLastSet.Required}"/>
        <my:Property my:Name="ReadOnly" my:Value="True"/>
              <my:Property my:Name="Value" my:Value="{Binding Source=object, Path=MCSpwdLastSet, Mode=TwoWay}"/>
            </my:Properties>
          </my:Control>

    Note: I have returned the XML configuration to default, but error persists.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for sending code.
    if this happens in Default RCDC, then the code does not matter. I also realized you mention "Edit" And "View". there are two separate RCDCs for each function.

    So which one is it?

    Did you by any chance rename the RCDC?  If you did, that is not allowed.

  • The error occurred in both, I was able to reverse the problem by uploading the backup database referring to MIMService.

    Thanks!

  • So it seems to me you had renamed the Default User RCDCs which is not supported as the GUID changes.
