Windows Powershell not opening correctly RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having trouble opening windows powershell. When I open it (normal, module and ISE 32 and 64 bit versions) using the shortcut, it opens and then immediately closes. When I use the command "powershell" in the command prompt to open it, I get the following error:

Internal Windows PowerShell error.  Loading managed Windows PowerShell failed with error 80070002.

Also, I have noticed that powershell is located here:

    C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe

The folder it's in is called "v1.0". Does this mean that the copy of powershell I have is 1.0? Doesn't windows 7 come with 2.0 installed?

    COMPUTER SPECIFICATIONS

    - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Service Pack 1

    - HP Probook 4530s (laptop)

NOTE- SOMEONE PLEASE MOVE THIS TO THE APPROPRIATE FORUM, I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS POSTING THIS HERE
