Is it possible in Outlook 2010 use one pst for all terminal users? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hy,

We have Outlook 2010 istalled on terminal server. There is one IMAP mail acc (size 12GB), so automaticaly outlook creates local pst and downloads all mail to it. This is normal. But in terminal server are 5 users, which are using this mailbox, so all users has this 12GB size pst (5x12GB=60GB of disk size). So my question would be: Is it possible to force all users to use one pst for that acc?

  • Hi,

I’m afraid that can’t be achieve by 5 windows profile force to use one pst.
Because of IMAP pst file is special, after initialization will generate a PST (IMAP) data files every time you log in another profile. Seem like XXX[1], XXX[2].

My solution is using auto-archive function to save the older mails in local pst, thus reduce the size of IMAP mailbox, share local auto-archive pst file to other users for workaround.

    Hope this help.
