HELP ! Vista won`t upgrade. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to upgrade from XP Home to Vista Home Premium.

When the option for `upgrade` comes up it says
    Upgrade has been disabled.
    - Your Windows configuration cannot be upgraded.

I found a solution on the microsoft site saying to change any drives from FAT32
to NTFS. I did this only to find my drives were already NTFS , and still
    upgrade is disabled.

I have also ran the vista upgrade advisor and it tells me my computer will
    run vista home premium.

My computer is a Packard Bell iPower FX7610.
    It has two drives :
    drive (c) 29gb
    drive (d) 521gb

    Please help.

  • are you booting from the dvd or upgrading from within xp?

The only way to upgrade is through within the xp. Try that, and hopefully it will work.

  • All these problems trying to UPGRADE to Vista using the upgrade version,

WILL IT BE EASIER TO CHANGE THIS UPGRADE VERSION FOR THE FULL MORE EXPENSIVE VERSION ?
