Exchange 2007 Resource mailboxes no longer auto accepting meeting requests RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ww have a large number of meeting rooms/resources, until today they were auto accepting meeting/booking requests and responding to the requester, if there was a conflict it auto rejected and advised the requestor of the conflict.

Today, none of them are accepting or responding.

I went into one of these via OWA and everything is set correctly, no changes have been made that I am aware of. Using EMS I ran the cmdlet  MailboxCalendarSettings <resourceID>| fl, the result was:

    AutomateProcessing                  : AutoAccept
    AllowConflicts                      : False
    BookingWindowInDays                 : 180
    MaximumDurationInMinutes            : 1440
    AllowRecurringMeetings              : True
    EnforceSchedulingHorizon            : True
    ScheduleOnlyDuringWorkHours         : False
    ConflictPercentageAllowed           : 0
    MaximumConflictInstances            : 0
    ForwardRequestsToDelegates          : True
    DeleteAttachments                   : False
    DeleteComments                      : True
    RemovePrivateProperty               : True
    DeleteSubject                       : True
    DisableReminders                    : True
    AddOrganizerToSubject               : True
    DeleteNonCalendarItems              : True
    TentativePendingApproval            : True
    EnableResponseDetails               : True
    OrganizerInfo                       : True
    ResourceDelegates                   : {}
    RequestOutOfPolicy                  :
    AllRequestOutOfPolicy               : False
    BookInPolicy                        :
    AllBookInPolicy                     : True
    RequestInPolicy                     :
    AllRequestInPolicy                  : False
    AddAdditionalResponse               : False
    AdditionalResponse                  : <DIV><FONT size=2
                                          face=Tahoma></FONT></DIV>
    RemoveOldMeetingMessages            : True
    AddNewRequestsTentatively           : False
    ProcessExternalMeetingMessages      : False
    DefaultReminderTime                 : 0
    RemoveForwardedMeetingNotifications : True
    Identity                            : Domain.com/Resources/Conference Room
                                          resource ID
    IsValid                             : True
    ObjectState                         : Unchanged

As far as I can see, this is all correct, but the resource, along with ALL others, have stopped accepting meetings/bookings and are not responding to requests.

Does anyone have an idea what has happened and how I can fix this?

    NOTE:

In an attempt to resolve this, I used

    Set-MailboxCalendarSettings <ResourceID> -AutomateProcessing:Autoaccept

    No change has been seen

  • Hi,
Have you checked if the service MSExchangeMailboxAssistants is running?
If it is, then restart it and see if that helps.

  • Thanks Martina, the service was not running, I started it and a few minutes later I got a ton of accepted messages. I now have a dozen meetings to cancel :)

  • I wonder when the majority of people will understand that the best decisions are made close to the coffee machine and not in a conference room :)

Glad to hear that it worked for you though.

  • They don't provide coffee machines here so no good decisions are ever made.

Thanks again, I'll go back to mainlining caffeine now :)
