System Slow/Freezes on startup - svchost.exe uses 8GB+ RAM RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

At each boot, my computer is low. In task manager i see svchost.exe -k LocalService will max out around at around 8GB of 16Gb RAM and the process disappear after 4 and 5 minutes and my computer works normally after that.

I have no idea what is going on but I suspect 4 files of 2 Go in C:\Windows\System32\NetworkList\Icons :

  • First make sure that there is no malware present in the system.

You need to scan your system in safe mode with latest version of anti-malware tool.

    Go through the following:

  • Hi,

For this problem, in my opinion, it would be better to make troubleshooting with Windows startup diagnosis tool, you can refer to the contents of the link below for more details:

Since you said it work fine in Safe Mode, you can also check is there any program start up with system, then try to disable them for test if Windows works fine.
