Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and can no longer import my .pfx file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I upgraded my pc from windows 7 to windows 10 and all of a sudden I cannot import the key file (.pfx file).

    Things I've tried:
    1) I've redone the password and it works for a second, but then starts giving me the same error again.

    2) I run Visual Studio in Administrator mode and it'll work.

The above solutions are only temporary and I it is driving me bonkers. Has anyone been able to permanently fix this issue?

  • Hi Shane,

In order to assist you with current issue, please show the error message to us.

I search online and find out a kb for you, please refer to it.

On the other hand, make sure your key file and Visual Studio software is compatible with Windows 10, try update it or reinstall it to see the result.

In addition, there is a case talks about Cannot import the keyfile, error 'The keyfile may be password protected', if it is similar to your scenario, maybe can give you some prompt.
