  • Hello.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit And I think IM having to high percent of memory usage im my system.(35% In idle and 49% when using only chrome 2 tabs not with Videos or big websites!)

    few things first:

    1) I made Disk Difragment before one week (And I do it often).

2)I cleaning my computer with CCLEANER.

3)I Scaning my computer with few anti virous/spyware/malawer etc... very often....

    4) I have 4 GB of RAM memory DDR3, 667 Ghz.

    5) I Used the MSconfig to all most eliminate all the unnecessary programs that startup with Windows.

  • memory is meant to be used.

windows will use all it can get and need.

this is why you have a swap file, so programs can be written out to disk to
free memory when more is needed.

  • Don't use MSconfig - use Autoruns from Sysinternals, much more depth.

As Mikeyhsd said, memory is supposed to be used, and Windows 7 is very cleaver at how it does this. The only time you should consider this an issue is if your pagefile is constantly being used to swap from RAM to Disk, this will have a performance impact on your system if its say above 1,500 pages/sec (check in perfmon).

Using Resource monitor you will see clearly how much is actually "In Use" - it's the green portion

Modified can be reused if needed, and standby is just that, the system has prepared the physical RAM to be ready for use when needed. I have 12GB installed and only 2GB is set as "Free" - so don't worry about it.
