BHOLD Installation failed with script error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Just started the setup of BHOLD Core.

    I followed the procedure:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134095(v=ws.10)

    The documents describes:

BHOLD Core must be installed by a user logged on with an account in the same domain as the server and which belongs to the Domain Admins group in the domain and to the Administrators group on the server.

When i do this the setup fails with a script error.

    Workaround:

The workaround is to run the Setup of bhold core under the local administrator account of the server where you install BHOLD.

    I hope it helps you

  • Hi,

Just went through the install using VM machine dedicated for BHOLD, member of the same domain as FIM 2010 R2 (already installed and working).

Approach applied to install core, and also Model Generator, Attestation, Reporting and Analytics is following:
    1. Log in as b1user (or account you created for BHOLD Service)
    2. As an administrator, run CMD.exe (right-click, select "run as administrator")
    3. From command prompt, run BHOLD Core installation MSI file. Supply required information, leave IP address "*" (default) to allow binding the IIS web site to all kinds of addresses, not only IPv4. I gave IPv4 address, and was unable to connect. Corrected via changing bindings later via IIS Management tools (removing IP address).

In case above will not be sufficient, I can try to prepare more detailed, step-by-step installation procedure with all details and screenshot over the weekend.

Similar approach to the above allowed to install core on FIM server too (different database). That case, however, has issues with service status display. I I am still working on better investigation and explanation of the root causes...

Hope it will help you to jump in to BHOLD.

  • Your provided link is incorrect, also can you tell a lit more about what script error you receive this to understand what error you have.

  • And now the correct link

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134095(v=ws.10)

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134095(v=ws.10)

The evenlog has the following error message:

Product: Microsoft BHOLD Suite - Core -- The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2803. The arguments are: , ,

But as stated a install under the local administrator account functions perfectly. Just had to do update of the user in de  in the user tabel of bhold on the SQL Server

  • You have probably unselected the option 'make restrictions for database user' during the installation of BHOLD Core - this causes all kinds of issues including the one you described above.

To get more information as to why the installation fails, run the installer using the .net installutil.exe utility to install the BHOLD Core msi file.
