Not exactly sure what kind of information you are looking for, but let me give you some options:
- Check the Status Message Queries (Monitoring > System Status > Status Message Queries) and run for example the All Status Messages query
- If you are looking for client related reports, check Monitoring > Reporting > Reports. Here you can sort the reports by category and find easily the reports under Client Status -category. There's also a Description column available for the view

Suppose there are 3000 machines and I would like to check the latest date when the machines policies were refreshed on the server. (last communication with the server).
This is what I am looking for.

I see. I wonder if this could match your needs:
Go to Assets and Compliance and select Devices. The devices from the connected domains should become visible. Now right-click the column-area of the view and activate the Policy Request -column.

Is there a way by which we could sort the information.
For ex. - the machines which received policy from the server in last 7 days etc. ?
Also, any mechanism to get any communication info for non client machines but are shown in the console.

To find the non-clients with similar listing, you should check the device collection All Unknown Computers. It depends on your configurations but the non-client machines might be listed by default already on the Devices list. Another chance is that all of your machines are shown on All Systems device collection. You can check the client's status by showing column Client.
Only possibility to have a list showing e.g. the machines which received policy from the server in the last 7 days is to have a device collection with a query. This query should have a criteria which limits the collection to match your needs.
Only issue is that I can't confirm whether it's possible to have a query which would apply for policy requests.
You could always check manually from the Devices list the clients which have their Policy Request updated within your time frame. Tip: sort by column Policy Request.

Thanks Moeu, policy request method helped
But what i would like to check is how to extract any communication information for non client machines which i am unable to do so now. i could see them under devices section under assets and compliance but they are of no use in telling when was the last time they communicated. Based on this, i could manually delete some from the database.

Computers without the ConfigMgr client won't communicate at all.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Thanks Torsten,
I believe, only AD team could extract the communication details for those clients ?

What's the definition of "communication details"?
AD discovery will also add lastlogon and lastlogontimestamp.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de
