SQL DBs in simple or full recovery model for DPM 2007 backup? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

which is the best/preferred recovery model for the SQL databases when I backup them with DPM 2007?

I know that I can restore DBs in simple recovery model only from the time of the express full backup and DBs with full recovery model from the time of the sync jobs.

Sorry if this a silly question but I am not a SQL expert.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

you understand the difference, from there on it is what you want/need to do...
From a DPM stance there is no clear differentiator to the on or the other.
Once could argue that full recovery model + incrementals is some more work.
