Guidance for Sequencing Exchange Management Console 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    Trying to sequence the Exchange Management Console (EMC) for Exchange 2007. It's a typical Microsoft .msc file so I had assumed it would work the same way my ConfigMgr Client sequencing went, however after three attempts using combination of changing the VM type to Console, and changing the Filename attribute to %CSIDL_SYSTEM%\mmc.exe and passing the EMC console .msc file as a Parameter, I'm still stumped with this one.

    Error on the client is the good old failed to load snapin.

    The PowerShell Cmdlets snapin works and I can use that element of it for running Exchange PSCmdlets, just not the console.

    Any thoughts?

    Sadly, that's the same instruction I tried. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using the SP3 slipstreamed binaries and I'm sequencing it on a Windows XP machine.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

    Ok - seems odd not to share what happens in your environment then? Seems that your issue would be really environment specific?

  • Hello,

    How did your sequence the console? What does your client look like? If you want any further help - i suggest you start sharing as opposed to us having to ask how your environment looks like and from scratching identifying potential causes

    In general when asking questions in forums - I usually read this article to understand how I can share relevant information;
