Migration from Exchange 2003 to 2010 - Cannot suspend public folder replication RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am migrating an Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange 2010. After installing Ex 2010 the Ex 2003 started to replicate folder contents. I do not want this at this time because the hardware of the old server is very weak and there are approx. 20 GB Data in 1000+ Public Folders.

I removed the 2010 replica from the public folder instances and suspended as told in http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2006/06/05/3394168.aspx

My problem: This option has no effect! After mounting the public folder datastore there are 2000 folder content mails flooding the queue.

Is there any other option to force the suspension of public folders?

    Thank you

    Sebastian

  • Hi Sebastian,

If you want to stop public folder replication in your organization, you can use the following cmdlet.

    Suspend-PublicFolderReplication

    For your reference:
