Using Network Location for Back Up RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI I have customer who using DPM 2010 to back up their exchange 2010 databases. And recently their locally attached storage ran out of space. And they suggesting me to use another machine (not the DPM Server itself) for storage backups. is this possible or do I need to install another DPM server in the new machine as well.(Guess installing Two DPM servers in same domain is possible)

    please reply quickly.

    thanks In Advance

  • Wouldn't it be possible to attach new storage space to the existing DPM Server?

One thing to know is that several DPM Servers inside the same domain are possible but each protected computer can be managed by one and only one DPM Server.

If you have a standalone Exchange Server then this option should be excluded.

If you have a Exchange DAG then some nodes would be protected by DPM_OLD and some by DPM_NEW.
