Microsoft Remote Desktop app on Mac freezing issues when using Work Resource publish Apps RRS feed

  • We have a customer who is using RDS. We have configured the App so published RDS apps are available. The problem that we are finding is that when the apps are launched we see the following issues

    1. With some versions of the OS, mainly Yosemite the Remote App in use with becomes non responsive after 10 or so minutes of inactivity. The user needs to close Remote Desktop and re-launch

    2. With some OS versions, mainly OS X, if they are running a remote app and flick between applications such as between their published RDS app to Mail, Safari or any other app, the RDS session becomes non responsive and they have to quit the Remote Desktop App.

    We have found that if we publish the Remote Desktop connection to the RDS server and get the users to run the apps from within the RDS session, then it becomes more stable and non of the issues above occur.

    The Remote Desktop App has an option to email logs, the logging doesn't ever seem to contain anything about the session disconnecting.

    We are currently using the latest version of Remote Desktop across all the Macs

  • We have made some improvements to the last release which should improve the experience. Next we are working on Auto-reconnect which will solve those issues

  • We experience the same issue.

    Multiple mac's, most are up-to-date with the current version 8.0.15.

    Also we have the issue with two kinds of RDS setup's. 
    1. Local singel RDS Server which publishes apps.
    2. Remote (over Inet) Multiple SessionHosts, Multiple collections, 1 Connection Broker and 1 Gateway.

    We are constantly updating the Mac's OS and Remote Desktop App.

    Windows 7 and 8(.1) machines are working fine.

    We can't figure out if this is a problem with Mac OS (So Apple) of the Remote Desktop App (MS).

  • I have a macbook pro. I'm using RDP 10 and I'm having this same problem. Literally within about 1 minute of logging in it freezes and I have to relaunch the RDP.

  • i use it on my local and it keep freezing .(macbook) , when i try it at windows on same mac there is no problem
