  • Problem with the Predecessor Sync – only Start and End Dates supported / no constraints or lag times can be synched.

I took all the constraints and lag times out of the predecessor fields, then attempted to sync again. I received this error:

"Invalid Predecessor - SharePoint only support Finish-to-Start predecessors without constraints or lag times. Modify the affected precedessor and sync again."

Is there some way to determine the “affected predecessor?” If this can’t be done, would deleting the predecessor column solve the sync problem? Please advise.

  • Mimolle --
Examine the Predecessor column and look for anything that is not a number, such as the letters SS, FF, or SF.  These are dependencies that are not allowable using the Sync to SharePoint Tasks List feature, which is what is triggering the error message.  Once you find the task whose Predecessor is not a number (indicating the only allowable Finish-to-Start dependency) change the dependency to FS, and you should be able to sync.  Hope this helps.
