Multiple protected items are in In consistent with error - VSS error on the DPM server RRS feed

  • Hello All,

    • Multiple protected items failed with below error message.
    • DPM server:- DPM 2012 R2 hosted on OS:-2012 R2 Standard

    E:\ on <Agnet name> d:\Microsoft System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\Volumes\Replica\File System\vol_86db922b-d2ae-4738-b7b1-d29b20ba6f25\b77cbcb5-94ba-4a83-8d3a-d4a2b459cc9b\Full\

    • Also seen below error on application event viewer:-   Manually I have mounted one of the protected item volume and ran checkdisk - found no errors. 
    • All VSS writers are stable with no errors.

    Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error while calling GetStorageDependencyInformation.  hr = 0x80070002, The system cannot find the file specified.

    The exact nature of the corruption is unknown.  The file system structures need to be scanned online.

    A corruption was discovered in the file system structure on volume \\?\Volume{ce090411-fe47-11e4-b1bf-0025901eb25c}.

    -------------------------------------Volume \\?\Volume{ce090411-fe47-11e4-b1bf-0025901eb25c} (\Device\HarddiskVolume679) requires an Online Scan.  An Online Scan will automatically run as part of the next scheduled maintenance task.  Alternatively you may run "CHKDSK /SCAN" locally via the command line, or run "REPAIR-VOLUME <drive:> -SCAN" locally or remotely via PowerShell.

    volume D:\...PM\DPM\Volumes\Replica\Non VSS Datasource Writer\vol_d3081dd6-02c2-4087-a1e7-51ef2a3fa90f is offline for shadow copy protection.  The shadow copy storage was made inaccessible or removed from the system.  Please ensure that the shadow copy storage is present.  Please try clearing the protection fault or restart the computer.  If all else fails, revert out of shadow copy protection mode to reclaim the use of the volume while losing the shadow copies.
