  • Hi Brian,

By using the SSIS is it possible to export the entire db or I can export necessary tables and necessary fields with Joiins and conditions as normally we do in MA's?

in my situation i need to join tables and necessary fields to export to Excel

Yes you can export the result of a SQL query.

  • Do you need to have it as part of your provisioning solution and export these information for specific users only? Or you are trying to just export these data with FIM. If later maybe SQL integration Services or just Data Export tool would be more suitable. If You want to provision entries for Your users to something which will be then consumed by Excel you can configure text file MA either with standard file MA or Henrik's ultimete File ma http://fimfileconnector.codeplex.com/ and export these data to CSV.

  • Have you thought about doing this with SSIS? You could do it with FIM but I think SSIS would be a much easier solution.

Start with the Import/Export Data wizard in SQL Management Studio. It can generate an SSIS package that you can tweak or just schedule as a SQL Agent job.
