Migrating Azure Resources from Azure Service Manager to Azure Resource Manager. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • After introducing azure resource manager (ARM), Microsoft is now announcing most of the new feature with ARM. Though Microsoft has not publish anything related to official farewell of Azure Service Manager (ASM), however look like it will sooner than later.

But, what happen to all those resources which are already provisioned in Azure with ASR? Is there any way to migrate or move the resources from ASM to ARM?

  • Hello,

Today, about 90% of IaaS VMs are using Azure Resource Manager. As of February 28, 2020, classic VMs have been deprecated and will be fully retired on March 1, 2023.

Platform-supported migration of IaaS resources from classic to Azure Resource Manager

I hope even this answers your query.

    Thank you.
