Server 2012 R2 Essentials User limitations? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can anybody explain what the 25 user limit entails?
If I have 24 users created in active directory; 33 computers and some of the users log into multiple workstations, is this supported by the 25 user limit; or is it more like a (user/device = 1 user)  limit?  Secondly; if I were to create 30 users; 20 users work full time; 10 working on the weekends...Does all that matter have to do with how many are using the server at a time.  I can't seem to find any clear answers and wanted to be sure.

  • Your 24 users can access multiple computers/devices.  You can create up to 25 user accounts and have up to 50 devices.

Essentials is capped at 25 users.  So 30 users would be above that limit, even though 10 of them work on the weekends.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi  raylward102 ,

Users can log into multiple workstations .

Windows Server 2012 Essentials can support up to 25 users and 50 devices .

That means we could only create no more than 25 users .No matter when the accounts are in use .

Here is the reference for the edition :
