PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSite Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have recently converted from SharePoint Permission mode to Project Permission mode for PS 2013.

    Since the conversion we get PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSite errors every time a new user is added or a project is published.

    The error details are below.

    Your PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSite job failed. Its current state is FailedNotBlocking. It was 0% complete. It entered the queue at 05/27/2014 14:56:05.

    To get more information about the job failure, please go to Project Web App. Select Personal Settings from the left menu. Then select My Queued Jobs.

    The errors returned from the queue are as follows:
    Error ID: 26000

    Detailed error below – send it to the administrator for more detailed troubleshooting.

    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-16″?>
    <errinfo>

    <class name=”Queue”>
    <error id=”26000″ name=”GeneralQueueJobFailed” uid=”a5ecd28d-d0e5-e311-bb40-005056a54520″ JobUID=”a2ecd28d-d0e5-e311-bb40-005056a54520″ ComputerName=”e97c56cf-ea9e-464b-91c7-7e82c0a5397c” GroupType=”PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSite” MessageType=”PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSiteMessage” MessageId=”1″ Stage=”” CorrelationUID=”6c13959c-47db-50d6-5397-c5759051c368″ />
    </class>
    </general>
    </errinfo>

    Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Hi Sin,

    In Project Server we should use either Project Server permission mode or SharePoint permission mode to provide permissions to user.

    Project site synchronization will fail if the Project site inherits permissions from the parent site. If the requirement is to have the permissions inherited from parent site then you can disable the Project Site synchronization.

    You can follow the below article for the same:

  • Hi,

    Can you check whether the Project site for which the synchronization is failing is inheriting permissions from the parent site?

  • The synchronization error is occurring for all project sites and all project sites are set to inherit permissions from the parent site (PWA).

    The structure is as follows:

    Parent - PWA Site

    Sub Site (inherits permissions from PWA) - Equipment Projects (summary site for project sites navigation)

    Sub Sites (inherits permissions from Equipment Projects) -  various individual project site

    Hope that helps!!

  • Thanks for that bit of info Dinesh!!

    Disabling project site synchronization did the trick.

    Although we are running in Project Server mode we want all team users to see all projects, so we set our site permission to inherit from parent.

  • Has anyone figured this out.  I've migrated from Project Server 2010 to 2013 and this exact issue began.  My main question is why?  Both versions, 2010 & 2013 are running in Project Permissions mode no security changes.  I don't have this error in 2010 only 2013.

    Queue error:

      • GeneralQueueJobFailed (26000) - PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSite.PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSiteMessage. Details: id='26000' name='GeneralQueueJobFailed' uid='da3bad13-f5e4-e511-80e8-0050569a4e71' JobUID='0f8db20d-f5e4-e511-80e8-0050569a4e71' ComputerName='a6d9daaf-3245-4b1f-9eb6-25f99d72e8c9' GroupType='PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSite' MessageType='PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSiteMessage' MessageId='1' Stage='' CorrelationUID='3d70669d-a347-70ce-2e8c-9c5cb89bb923'. For more details, check the ULS logs on machine a6d9daaf-3245-4b1f-9eb6-25f99d72e8c9 for entries with JobUID 0f8db20d-f5e4-e511-80e8-0050569a4e71.

    ULS Log of the error produces two errors multiple times:

    CRITICAL

    Standard Information:PSI Entry Point: <unknown>  Project User: <unknown>  Correlation Id: <unknown>  PWA Site URL:   SA Name: <unknown>  PSError: <unknown> A queue job has failed. This is a general error logged by the Project Server Queue everytime a job fails - for effective troubleshooting use this error message with other more specific error messages (if any), the Operations guide (which documents more details about queued jobs) and the trace log (which could provide more detailed context). More information about the failed job follows. GUID of the failed job: 8e56d5e3-f4e4-e511-80e8-0050569a4e71. Failed job type: PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSite. Failed sub-job type: PSPermissionSynchronizeProjectSiteMessage. Failed sub-job ID: 1. Stage where sub-job failed:  (this is useful when one sub-job has more than one logical processing stages).
