Migrating a bulk data into an existing data Spread sheet RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI All,

Me and my team recently launched an intranet portal for our business collobration. For this portal by using a Import SpreadSheet concept we uploaded our complete Employee details into the list with in few minutes and it is working fine. But now i need to add another 300 employees to the existing sharePoint list with out causing any disturbance to the Spread sheet which i have created earlier.

    With Regards,

    Annaji.Mantha

  • Hi,

You can edit the List in datasheet view. Copy all the 300 entries from the excel and paste it in to the list.(Last Row)

Let us know if you are having difficulties in using Datasheet view.

  • Zoeb's suggestion is the most straightforwards one, but you can also export the list as a linked spreadsheet and synchronise changes back to the linked list if you wanted to continue working within Excel.

I have just deleted a post that was about a problem with SP 2010.

This is a thread in a pre-SP 2010 forum and therefore SP 2010 questions and comments are always off-topic here.
