Project Server: Unable to insert/delete tasks under default views... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running Project Server 2010 / SharePoint 2010.  When I create a project, I'm not able to insert or delete tasks under the default views.  Originally this was possible.  One new view has been created with similar view configurations and the insert and delete options are available for this view but no others.  Have looked through the Project Permissions as well as the Server Setting -> Manage Users/Groups with no luck.

  • This is by design as only task views are editable.

Resource views and Assignment view are derived info related to the relationship betweeen the Task and the assigned Resource(s).

  • Fuel,

Where are you trying to add/delete tasks? Project Pro or PWA?

Assuming it is PWA, which view are you trying to do thsi in? Not all views are editable in PWA.

  • Trying to add/delete tasks from the PWA web site.  Looks like the default Assignments views and Resources views are not editable.  The Tasks views are editable as are custom views.  If this is by MS's design no worries.  I just don't see anywhere to lock a view down to view-only.
