Does creating a recovery point impact performance on the *protected* server RRS feed

  • Question

  • So here I am syncing every 15 minutes (with no issues). However I only create recovery point at 13:00 (users at lunch) and 19:00 (users gone home).

I did this because I didn't want to hit performance on the protected server during work hours.  However thinking about it, I now consider that it is only the syncing that impacts performance and I know that the "hit" is minor.   So if I increase the replica creation frequency to 11:00 13:00 15:00 17:00, the users should not notice anything. Am I right?

  • Hi Joe,

I assume you're talking about file protection.

Every 15 minutes, modified data are sent to DPM server, then Recovery Point is made on DPM server in compliance with your Schedule policy , so "no" impact on the protected Server.
