  • Hi,

you can use aVast from www.avast.com as this works for both 32- and 64-bit versions of Vista.

I have used this on builds 5600 and 5728 with success.

There are others that you can use...look here www.start64.com

ZoneAlarm have not yet released a Vista compatible version, there are lots of people waiting patiently for it.

  • ManishSood,

Why not install Windows Live OneCare http://www.windowsonecare.com/   You can download a Trial for 3 months. Its by MS, not bloated and runs fine with the system. (besides if you spring for the annual $50.00 fee you are able to run it on 3 computers) . You also get the two way firewall, Windows Defender, real time antivirus scanner, Tuneup, Backup etc. Well worth the money.

Here you get everything you are looking for in one compatible program.

    Good Luck and enjoy Vista

It function correctly but a lot of time, when I start my pc, the Active Shield is stopped.

When I Open the Control Center and start the protection shield, it start whit no problem.

  • Currently using NOD32, one of the few to support 64ibt. Previously AVG - which I switched to from NOD32 as at that time it did not support Windows XP 64bit. Firewall was the nVidia on that was supprted with the nForce 4 series, again WinXP 64, which met my needs. Now relying on the latest MS firewall with Vista. I also have a hardware firewall incorporated into my Netgear router.

  • Kaspersky has just released a compatible version of their AV software but I can't get it to work. Also, I had problems installing a piece of memory software and Zone Alarm Pro. I will be contacting tech support for both and will post any information about which services need to be turned off in order to install each one.

  • Windows Live OneCare is running on two machines for me with Vista and running fine - if you disable the firewall and enable the Windows firewall, it doesn't seem to recognize that - however, this is an issue they are aware of. It still runs fine though.

  • I have been  using AVAST, and it works like a charm. For now, I am sticking with Vista Firewall, since it works much better than previous versions - I will wait to see if Sunbelt Kerio, my favorite firewall, releases a Vista compatible version.

  • I suggest using

    Nod32: http://download1.eset.com/eval/win/v2/nentenst.exe

    Kaspersky7 (include a FireWall) :

both are vista compatible and support 32 and 64 bits, but both need license keys / cracks
