DPM 2007 volumes are fragmented in SCOM 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has experienced an issue with fragmented drives on their DPM servers in SCOM 2007? They are set as warnings, but wanted to see if anyone knew how to address these? Is performing a defrag on the C drive of the DPM server the way to fix? Or should these be ignored because DPM handles the volumes? Any info will be appreciated!

Answers

  • if you are referring to the volumes created by DPM (Storage pool manager) to backup the data to: please do not run disk defrag on it. Let DPM handle it.

  • Thanks for the response Parag. Yes I was referring to the DPM volumes. How do I adjust settings or view properties for how DPM handles the defraging?
