IP address changed, Central Administration down RRS feed

  • Hi,

    we recently changed the servers to a different switch, resulting in IP address change. The first error I got was unable to configure the database connection.

    I then ran the SharePoint product and technology wizard, connected to the current server farm, choose the config database. That was successful, however, after the CA tried to connect and showed the error 404. I just cant resolve the issue, I kept running the the wizard and everytime the port of the CA changes but the CA is still unaccessible. Can someone help me.

    Hi cally_kalpana,

    Changing the IP addresses of servers is Ok.

    Ensure that you update the DNS entries to reflect the IP changes.

  • Hello,

    pls check that you've updated the DNS entry for your server. If you use a local host file pls. check it also to verify that FQDN / Servernames pointing to the "new" IP Adress.
