Sharepoint IIS and DNS setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a team site in SharePoint 2013 on port 101.

Im trying to setup the DNS and IIS so that i can use a domain name to access the site.

Here I have made an A-host in the DC server, the record points to my SharePoint App Server, where the IIS is also running.

Then i set up the IIS (7,5) in the sharepoint server with the running IIS:

Butwhen i try to open the site, it does not work :'/

In Internet Explorer i get the message: Internet Explorer cannot Display the webpage

It works if i remove the bindings and use the normal http://servername:101

    Any ideas?

Do i need to somehow bind the portumber to the DNS lso?

    br

  • From my understanding, you should limit working with the Site Bindings in IIS. If you have multiple servers, you would need to do the same thing for each one. As Paul suggests, you need to use AAM within SharePoint to achieve what you want.
