I have been struggling with the 80070490 error for a long time, on my 32bit system. I never was able to install SP1 or SP2, and when I moved the Vista recovery DVD has gone missing. I have now purchased Windows 7 to so that I can upgrade, and hopefully rid myself of a malfunctioning system.
Can I upgrade my windows without having the service packs for Vista or is this error going to be a bane still?
