hello, i'm working for a it company producing various types of computers using the wds for preinstallation. it has been showed, that it is quiet difficult to impossible to offer diffrent versions of windows - despite of different windows vista versions - for preinstallation, not even mentioning different operating systems. As Windows Server pretends to be a professional software for enterprises it should be possible to deploy other operating systems than windows - or at least different versions of windows instantly. i know that there are solutions out there like unattended(http://unattended.sourceforge.net/), but having trusted in our main production on windows products like wds it would be enormous expensive to switch.
where can i get more information about the structure of such wim images necessary for wds?
