My 2007 access database on network sometimes too slow RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using 4 windows 10 PCs as clients and database software installed on each of these clients.  They access the data files located on Windows Small Business server 2008.  The database works normally, however, at certain times, it lags and it takes almost 10 minutes to update one transaction.  I ran whatIsHang.  Below is the summary of what's causing the hang.

    Remarks:
    * The program hangs in a single system call. You can look in the call stack and  stack data to find out which API function cause this hang.

    Strings found in the stack:
    tStream

    Modules found in the stack:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll , Microsoft Corporation , Microsoft® Windows® Operating System, Windows NT BASE API Client DLL
C:\Windows\System32\msjet40.dll , Microsoft Corporation , Microsoft (R) Jet, Microsoft Jet Engine Library
    C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\AcLayers.DLL , Microsoft Corporation , Microsoft® Windows® Operating System, Windows Compatibility DLL
C:\Windows\System32\msjetoledb40.dll , Microsoft Corporation , Microsoft® OLE DB Provider for Jet, Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Jet
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\ado\msado15.dll , Microsoft Corporation , Microsoft® Windows® Operating System, ActiveX Data Objects
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVBVM60.DLL , Microsoft Corporation , Visual Basic, Visual Basic Virtual Machine
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSDART.DLL , Microsoft Corporation , Microsoft® Windows® Operating System, OLE DB Runtime Routines
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\OLEAUT32.dll , Microsoft Corporation , ,
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\msadc\msadce.dll , Microsoft Corporation , Microsoft® Windows® Operating System, OLE DB Cursor Engine

We are running an old 2007 Access database on Windows 10 and data available to 4 users on network.  I am not a software guy.  Could someone help?  Many thanks
