SCCM 2012 R2 to 1511 Upgrade automatically upgrades Windows 8.1 clients RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have a SCCM infra managing Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Server 2012 R2 systems.

When i upgrade "SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 CU2" to SCCM 1511 all systems with Windows 8.1 gets upgraded automatically.

This is the second time i faced this issue, any idea how to stop this automatic client upgradation ? Automatic client push installation is disabled & no other client installation method is configured.

It upgrades only Windows 8.1 clients and not Windows 7 or Server 2012 R2.

    Thanks,

    MayurG

  • There is no way to configure anything that meets the above criteria in ConfigMgr. You must have something else configured doing this.

  • Dear Sir,

Have you checked that if you selected the option "Upgrade all clients in the hierarchy using production client" on the Hierarchy Setting Properties->Client Upgrade tab ?

    Best regards,

    Jimmy

How would that explain that only 8.1 is affected?
