MDX Formula within a Target with an SQL Server Data Source RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I would like to know how to put a formula in a target's value whose the source is an SQL Server Data Base.

For example, in order to return the "amount" of the prior year, I would like to put something like :
    [Measures].[EurAmount], [Year].CurrentMember.PrevMember
(Maybe the names into brackets are wrong, but how could I find them?)

In the datasource Dashboard Designer's element, I have my table, I assign "fact" to my amount' column, and "timedimension" to my year's column.

But my KPI does not work, nor a filter in a dashboard  (when I enter a formula in my filter, that says something like "the time intelligence is not valid for my datasource".

    Best Regards.
    Tony

  • To clarify, is the target's value in a SQL Server Relational database, or in a SQL Server Analysis Services Cube. You can only use the MDX syntax if your target is in a cube.
