DPM 2007 to DPM 2010 Upgrade considerations RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am still debating the pros and cons of upgrade versus fresh install of DPM 2010.  It has come to my attention that when restoring from an older tape (One made on DPM 2007) on a DPM 2010 server that flat file restore is the only possibility when restoring workloads like sql or exchange.  Can anyone verify that after an DPM 2007 SP1 to DPM 2010 upgrade that when using an older tape to restore (One created using DPM 2007 SP1) that it will restore just like it did in DPM 2007?  In other words will I nbe able to restore DPM workloads easily with my old tapes or I am I limited to flat file restores and commence disaster recovery operations?
