Windows 8.1 gridlocked after starting Update RRS feed

  • Started update .... has been 24 hours and still the blue screen says  "Please wait"  Will not go into "safe mode"  with a reboot and F8.  ???

  • You could use the system restore feature to get your computer back its previous state.

    Then you can try to update again.

  • Hi,

    In this case, I suggest you power off the machine, then boot the machine again, If you can successfully boot into the system, run updates again, the previous failed updates might be caused by accident error.  If the system detect some corruption, it might boot into recovery mode automatically, or as T. Kujala mentioned, you can return to a previous state and run updates again. If issue persists, please post back
