size of client? - client push deployment RRS feed

  • Question

  • planning a SCCM 2012 client deployment using client push.

Does anyone know how much network traffic is generated per client?

is the amount of data different per OS? i.e. - XP 32 bit, Win 7 32 bit and
    Win 7 64 bit.

  • Hi,

For 32 bit SCCM client including prereqs, approx. 115MB

for 64 bit client including prereqs, approx 85MB

It is the same client for Windows 7, Windows XP, Vista and so on, only the architecture that differs..

    Regards,

  • Just by spot checking some of my x86 and x64 clients, it looks like the size of a typical client push download is between 75 MB and 90 MB.

    I hope that helps,

  • Thanks for the reply Jorgen.

I thought maybe an x86 XP system would require more prerequisites for SCCM 2012 client install than an x86 Win 7 system so would have to download more data during client push. Thanks for clarifying.

  • Note also that nearly all of this comes from the target system's local DP.
